Walkability - By Liv, a SMC graduate
As a low income college student, I initially put off getting a car due to the immense financial burden. Now I have realized that there are many benefits to using alternate modes of transportation, whether that means walking, biking, or public transit. While the United States will likely remain a car-centric nation, I wish to advocate for more equitable transportation infrastructure that gives everyone a chance. I firmly believe that the change you want to see begins at home, so most of my content on this blog will pertain to Spartanburg, South Carolina.
I hope to highlight the basic tenets of urbanism, while also showcasing the pedestrian-centered history of Spartanburg. Spartanburg has a bright future ahead and I do believe that that future will be walkable and more accessible for all.
