Hispanic/LatinX Heritage Month

Latinx Talk is an online, interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed, and moderated site for the circulation and discussion of original research, commentary, and creative work in brief and diverse formats such as essays (500-2000 words), multimedia presentations, podcasts, and short video. We believe in providing a space for Chicanx and Latinx Studies ideas, research, and creativity that may foster critical dialogues. As a forum, we host conversations on important topics and publish single-author or collaborative work. We welcome reader’s comments on the site.

Colorín Colorado has been providing free research-based information, activities, and advice to parents, schools, and communities around the country for more than a decade.

​Our mission at Latino Book Review is to amplify the diverse voices of the Latinx community by providing a platform for literary works that celebrate our culture, history, and experiences.

Our vision is to:
engage with works about, for, and/or by Latinxs; offer a broad forum on Latinx children’s, MG, and YA books;
promote literacy and the love of books within the Latinx community; examine the historical and contemporary state of Latinx characters; encourage interest in Latinx children’s, MG, and YA literature among non-Latinx readers; share perspectives and resources that can be of use to writers, authors, illustrators, librarians, parents, teachers, scholars, and other stakeholders in literacy and publishing.

Established in 1971 as an affiliate of the American Library Association (ALA), REFORMA has actively sought to promote the development of library collections to include Spanish-language and Latino oriented materials; the recruitment of more bilingual and bicultural library professionals and support staff; the development of library services and programs that meet the needs of the Latino community; the establishment of a national information and support network among individuals who share our goals; the education of the U.S. Latino population in regards to the availability and types of library services; and lobbying efforts to preserve existing library resource centers serving the interests of Latinos.

Our blog is an attempt to do ‘the leg-work’ for teachers—we compile lesson plans, research materials, resources, links to helpful blogs or author websites, and even write educator’s guides to accompany each book featured in our book group.
