Information Literacy is critical if students are to succeed in the global information society that exists today. Professional librarians are and always have been the first line of training in accessing, evaluating, and synthesizing information in an ethical manner. The Library recognizes that our students are learners of diverse backgrounds and skills. In an effort to assure that all students understand the principles of information literacy, professional librarians are available to provide: instruction for beginning students, advanced search techniques for classes and individuals, assistance and training in information evaluation and citation techniques, faculty professional workshops, and collaborative work with faculty to design research assignments. Instruction and activities can be scheduled by contacting the librarians no later than 1 week before the instruction/activity.
